Job Description
|
Her main work is to identify species and pollen from honey samples and to do the geographical and botanical identification. Besides handling pollen collection, she is into deciphering the intricacies of indigenous knowledge and wetland plants and she does the management for nurseries. |

She has got a Post Graduated Diploma in botany. After working as an English teacher in primary school, she heard about Keystone and applied for a job. She has been working with Keystone since 2003.
Working at Keystone is a learning process. She has been learning about field and project work, and how to set up a nursery. She feels that she has matured in the work with Keystone. It is interesting that you get to learn from the other programs as well. It is challenging to always be creative in your work.

Shiny lives with her parents in Coonoor. She has got one sister in Bangalore and one brother in the Nilgiris. When she was a child she enjoyed to roam around a lot with her siblings. They used to play in the forest and people saw them as the wild ones, the adivasis. Nowadays she is interested in colouring, cooking and music. She likes different kinds of music. It depends on the mood, but whenever she listens to music it should be loud! Shiny wants to be a career woman and her dream is to have a small house and a vehicle to travel around a lot with.
